Lyle K. Shelly, 73, of Fort Lauderdale, FL and formerly of Waltham, MA, sadly left our world too soon on September 24, 2022 after a brief illness at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.

Born in Boston, MA, son of the late LTC Lyle M. Shelly and Norma Rose Shelly, Lyle graduated from Northeastern University and was the proud owner of the Ski and Tennis Chalet in Newton, MA. Upon his retirement, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, where he enjoyed the gorgeous weather and maintained an active lifestyle. On a daily basis, Lyle could be found walking his neighborhood, swimming in his pool, and chatting with his friends. Ever the businessman, Lyle returned to the sales floor at City Furniture in Fort Lauderdale where he was consistently their top salesman. He prided himself on his work ethic and was an asset to the company.

During the warmer months, Lyle returned to the northeast to spend time with family. He looked forward to his bike rides, watching his great nephews play sports, and having his happy hour beverage on the front porch. Lyle will be sorely missed by his sister, Carole Sullivan and her husband, Michael, of Hampstead, NH; his sister Paula Shelly-Vasquez and her husband, Victor of Waltham, MA; his brother Kevin Coleman and his wife, Mary of Falmouth; nieces Jennifer Hagerty, Melissa Colburn, Casey O'Boyle and Carolyn Souza, nephews Zayde Buti and Ryan Sullivan, and great nieces and nephews, Samantha and Hannah Hagerty, Connor and Spencer Colburn, Aisling and Brigid O'Boyle, and Colin and Claire Souza.
