Obituary

Bradenton, Florida: G. Page Brown, Jr., a retired trial attorney and land developer, died peacefully in Bradenton on September 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, son of the late Gordon and Merle (Messeck) Brown, he was raised in Cassadaga, New York and graduated from Cornell University. While in the U.S. Army, he served two tours in the Vietnam War as platoon leader in the 9th and then 1st Infantry Divisions, and a second tour as advisor to the 65th Vietnamese Border Rangers. He completed his service as a Captain, and is the recipient of the Silver Star, the Bronze Star Medal, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star, the Ranger Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Overseas Service Bars, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Mr. Brown received his Law Degree from the New England School of Law in 1974 and served for 2 years as an Assistant County Attorney for Rockingham County. He was a trial lawyer in private practice from 1976 until 1997, most of those years as a partner with Scott W. LaPointe in the law firm of Brown and Lapointe of Exeter, NH. A longtime resident of Stratham, NH, he was involved in land development in Rockingham County before moving to Florida in 2004. He was also a published author of the books "The Unrequited" and "Clara's Wonderful Day".

A practicing Buddhist, he was a member of Friends of the Western Buddhist Order in New Hampshire and the Mindfulness Meditation Center in Florida. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Mary (Hogan) Brown, a daughter and son-in-law, Courtney M. Brown and Omar Serageldin, a grand-daughter, Yasmine and step grandchildren Tariq and Malik, of Arlington, VA, two sisters, Barbara Brown and her husband Rex Miller of Atkinson, NH and Jane Sheeran of Ashelot, NH, a cousin, Deborah Lang, sister-in-law Anne Hogan, brother-in-law Michael Hogan and his family, together with other nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service with military honors, to be held on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 10 a.m.in Atkinson Cemetery, Main St., Atkinson, NH. A reception will immediately follow at the Atkinson Country Club In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to either Buddhist center: Mindfulness Meditation Center, 4310 61st Street East, Palmetto, FL 34211 or Aryaloka Buddhist Center, 14 Heartwood Circle, Newmarket NH 03857.
