Edward E. Pond, 85, peacefully passed away on Tuesday January 30, 2024, surrounded by family.

Born on September 16, 1938 in Derry, NH, he was the son of the late George and Violet (Wentworth) Pond, and devoted husband to his wife, Arlene Pond. He and Arlene were married for 64 years and spent most of their life residing in Haverhill, MA. Ed worked as a forklift operator and foreman at Morton Warehouse in Lawrence, MA for many years.

Ed, a self-made man, built a life and a family he was proud of. He possessed a loving spirit, strong work ethic, and impressive handyman skills, with an innate ability to fix just about anything. He had a genuine love for animals and devotedly cared for his pets, Pugsly, Ducky and Cali.

Ed loved his Ford pick-up truck, New England sports, the outdoors, fishing, coin collecting, metal detecting, fixing cars, and playing cards (especially 45s).  Always there to lend a hand or give sound advice, he served as a father figure to many. Above all, he was a devout and loving family man.

Edward is survived by his wife, Arlene (Hunt) Pond of Haverhill, MA; his children, Edward Pond, Jr, and wife, Kellie, of Twin Mountain, NH; Kevin Pond and wife, Lisa, of Haverhill, MA; Kelly Pond and wife, Jamie, of East Hampstead, NH; Kerry Pond and wife, Sarah, of East Hampstead, NH; his six grandchildren (Joey, Chelsea, Corey and wife Laura, Marissa, Jaylen, Oliver), and one great grandchild (Cole).

He was predeceased by his son, Gregory Pond.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, February 5th, from 4pm to 6pm, at the Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, located at 116 Main St, Plaistow, NH. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 6th, at 10am in the chapel of the funeral home. Following the service, burial will take place in Haverhill's Linwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
