Obituary

Haverhill, MA:  Zigmund A. "Ziggy" Paszko, 87, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died on April 8, 2018 at the High Pointe House, Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill, MA, the son of the late John and Frances (Ryczko) Paszko, he attended Haverhill schools, including Haverhill Trade School.  He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War as an Aviation Machinist's Mate Petty Officer 3RD Class.   Ziggy was a Firefighter for the City of Haverhill, retiring in 1986, and he also worked as a Real Estate Broker for Di-An Realty.

He was a member of the former St. Michael's Church and All Saints Church, Haverhill, the Carl Davis Post #34 of the American Legion, the AmVets Post 147 and the Georgetown V.F.W.  An avid gardener, he enjoyed dairy farming as a young man, building and repairing small engines and was very devoted to his family and his home.

The husband of the late Loretta (Sabutis) Paszko who died in 1993, he is survived by a son, Zigmund A. Paszko, II and his wife, Sandra of Danville, NH; two daughters, Ann F. Bonanno and her husband, Kevin of Methuen, MA and Katherine M. Paszko and her husband, George Paquette of Haverhill, MA; three brothers, Stanley Paszko of Port Charlotte, FL, John Paszko and Walter Paszko, both of Haverhill, MA; two grandchildren, Matthew and Julia Bonanno and several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Veronica Paszko and Doris Clement and three brothers, Joseph Paszko, William Paszko and Michael Paszko.

Relatives and friends may attend Ziggy's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA.  His funeral will begin on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Church, Haverhill, MA.  Burial will take place in the Lithuanian National Cemetery, Methuen, MA with rendering of military honors by the U.
