William Thomas Walsh, “Bill”, 75, of Jupiter, Florida, formerly of South Portland, Maine, and Plaistow, New Hampshire, passed away on Wednesday July 8, 2026, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Portland, Maine, and raised in South Portland, Bill was the son of the late Joseph W. and Mary J. (Willwerth) Walsh, and was a graduate of South Portland High School, Class of 1969. Bill continued his education after high school, earning an associate’s degree in science in Business Administration, from the University of Maine.

William "Bill" Walsh was a devoted husband, loving father, respected business leader, mentor, and man of faith whose life was defined by integrity, generosity, and service to others. He shared 47 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lillian Walsh, creating a family founded on love, compassion, and unwavering support.

As a father and mentor, Bill generously shared his wisdom, guidance, and encouragement with family, friends, and colleagues, but most especially with his children. He instilled in them the importance of hard work, humility, charity, and caring for those less fortunate. He was a steadfast supporter of their education, athletics, and extracurricular activities, taking great pride in their accomplishments and always encouraging them to pursue their goals and interests. He took great pride in everything he did and consistently placed the needs of others before his own, ensuring those around him felt loved, supported, and cared for.

Bill's professional career reflected the same dedication, perseverance, and integrity that defined his personal life. Beginning his career as a New England telephone lineman, he steadily advanced through leadership and operations roles, earning a reputation for hard work, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His accomplishments led to senior management leadership positions with most notably AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Avaya Communications, and he made meaningful contributions to other telecommunications and technology organizations throughout his career. Beyond his professional achievements, Bill was deeply respected for his character, generosity, and willingness to mentor and develop others, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues, friends, and those whose careers he helped shape.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill had a lifelong passion for the sea and coastal living. From boating along the rugged shores of Maine to enjoying the waters of Jupiter, Florida, he found great fulfillment in being on the water and embracing the unique lifestyle of coastal communities. Whether spending time aboard a boat, exploring the shoreline, or simply enjoying the ocean's beauty, he was deeply connected to the places and experiences that defined life by the coast.

He was also a devoted admirer of British automobiles and an avid golfer who cherished time on the course with family and friends. These pursuits reflected his adventurous spirit, appreciation for life's simple pleasures, and his love of sharing meaningful experiences with those closest to him.

A man of deep and enduring faith, Bill was a devoted Catholic, a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Jude Council, and a lector at Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. His faith guided his actions and inspired his commitment to serving others throughout his life. Bill's legacy of love, leadership, generosity, humility, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bill will be sadly missed but forever in the heart of his cherished wife of almost forty-seven years, Lillian J. (Giglio) Walsh of Jupiter, Florida, treasured sons, Eric T. Quinney and his wife, Tiffany C. of Manchester, New Hampshire, Sean T. Walsh and his wife, Aimee M. of Plaistow, New Hampshire, and Patrick K. Walsh and his wife, Shayla J. of Sandown, New Hampshire, adoring daughter, Shelley L. Palmer of Derry, New Hampshire, admired brother, Joseph P. Walsh of South Portland, Maine, prized grandchildren, Taylor Quinney, Kaitlyn Quinney, and Eric Quinney, Jr., Cameron Palmer, Riley O’Brien, Gabriel Walsh, and Nathaniel Walsh, treasured great grandchild, James Keen, V.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to A Mass of Christian Burial for Bill on Wednesday July 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM, in St. Luke the Evangelist Parish at Holy Angels Church, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow, New Hampshire. Burial for Bill will take place on Friday July 17, at 12:00 PM, in the Calvary Cemetery, 1461 Broadway, South Portland, Maine.
