William "Bill" James Mitchell, Jr., 82, passed away after a period of declining health, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his Atkinson, NH home surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised, in Lawrence, Massachusetts he attended Central Catholic High School before enlisting in the United State Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from serving his country Bill worked for 3M as an alarm installer. He later went on to own and operate Mitchell Security Inc., for twenty-five years until his retirement in 1997.

Bill enjoyed spending time working in his yard and maintaining his property. He also had many wonderful camping excursions with family and friends. Bill had a great love for music and had a beautiful singing voice. Above all, family was most important, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bill is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of twenty-five years, Norma (Fransen) (Margeson) Mitchell.  Bill is survived by two sons, William J. Mitchell III, and his wife, Barbara of Danville, NH and David Margeson of Atkinson, NH:  four grandchildren, Robin Realejo, and her husband, Steven, Rebecca Mitchell, Jamey Chenault, and Jennifer Manna:  three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Michael, and Anthony. He is predeceased by his parents William J. Mitchell Sr., and Catherine (Dube) Mitchell; son, John R. Mitchell; brother, John Mitchell; sister, Joanne Kavanagh; and his great-granddaughter, Bella (Isabel) Castro.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 10:00a.m. until 12 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:15pm at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Burial will be in the family lot in Atkinson Cemetery in the spring.
