William (Bill) D. McGirr, 85, a resident of Haverhill, MA died on Friday, December 19, 2025, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Arthenese (Gaudette) McGirr, with whom he shared 20 plus years of marriage until her death in 2000.

He was born in Haverhill, MA on March 14, 1940, and was the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Luby) McGirr. William was raised in Haverhill and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA, Class of 1958. He attended Merrimack College until he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961 until 1965, carrying with him a strong sense of duty and commitment that guided him throughout his life. He was employed as a textile laborer at Malden Mills in Methuen and later at AT&T in North Andover until his retirement. William reentered the workforce seasonally as a clerk at the IRS to keep himself busy. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a Historian enthusiast and traveled to many historical sites throughout his life such as Gettysburg PA and Williamsburg VA.

He is survived by his son Thomas Pszybysz and his wife Carrie of North Andover, MA, his grandchildren Tara Pszybysz and her boyfriend Nicholas Cookson of North Andover, MA, Derek Pszybysz and his wife Ashley Moraski of Hopkinton, MA, his great grandchildren Chloe Moraski and Caleb Pszybysz. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins.

William was predeceased by his son Walter Pszybysz.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 3pm – 6pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 11am at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Walnut Cemetery, Haverhill, MA.
