Obituary

Methuen, MA:  William G. Lowthers, 91, of Methuen, MA and formerly of Salem, NH and Ocala, FL, died on April 12, 2022 at the Nevins Nursing Home, Methuen, MA.

Born in Medford, MA, the son of the late William J. and Helen F. (Bissette) Lowthers, he attended Stoneham High School and graduated with the Class of 1948.  William served in the United States Army as a Private First Class during the Korean Conflict.  He was employed for most of his working career as a welder for Walbar Metals, Peabody, MA.

In his youth, William enjoyed ice skating, playing hockey and roller skating at Skateland.  Later he loved fishing, playing horseshoes, and spending time with his family while summer vacationing at Manning Lake, Gilmanton, NH.  An avid colored-pencil artist and local New England sports fan, he loved sharing stories with his grandchildren and just being a presence in his family and grandchildren's lives.

Pre-deceased by his wife of sixty-two years in 2019, Diane C. (Bayek) Lowthers, William will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Reeves of Methuen, MA, Kristin and Steven Fisichelli of Salisbury, MA and Stacey and Erik Cetaruk of Methuen, MA; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Fisichelli, Cam Silveri, Matthew Fisichelli, Tylor Reeves, Evan Reeves, Emily Reeves and Jake Cetaruk.  He was pre-deceased by a sister, Dianne O'Brien.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and care givers at Nevins Nursing and Rehab for the excellent care provided over the past year.
