Obituary

Newton, NH: William Grygutis 76, a resident of Newton for the last thirty-five years, died at his home on Thursday evening, December 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, son of the late Fortunatas and Casimira (Degutis) Grygutis and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the Class of 1967. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 until 1973 and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Air Force Medal.

A resident of Long Branch, NJ for several years before moving to Newton, Bill was employed in manufacturing at Charles of the Ritz in Holmdel, NJ and from 1988 until 2011 in Production Support for Pfizer in Andover, MA. He was a member of "Ruck Up" of Keene, NH.

Bill enjoyed bowling as a young man and fishing for most of his life. He especially enjoyed his birthday parties and a good cigar. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and cherished the time that he spent with his family.

Bill will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-three years, Dale (Fitzpatrick) Grygutis, a son and daughter-in-law, William T. and Meredith Grygutis of Salem, NH, three daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Aldo Crisanaz of Milton, NH, Sarah and Richard Witty of Seabrook, NH, and Bethann and Brian Charte of Amesbury, MA, two brothers, Fred Grygutis of Lake Ariel, PA, and Patrick Grygutis of San Jose, CA, four grandchildren, Nathaniel  Mangrum, Anthony Salvaggio, Jordyn Crisanaz and Morgan Witty, a great grand-daughter Maeve Mangrum, several nieces and nephews and two best friends Garrett Kash of Frederick MD and Jerry Squires of Windham, NH.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bill's calling hours to be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main ST., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. A family burial service with Military honors will take place in the spring at The State of New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH
