Obituary

Wayne M. Solimine, 69, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, passed away on Saturday August 8, 2026, at his home he shared with his loving wife, Pauline and one of two cherished daughters, Jennifer.

Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, he was the middle child of four brothers and three sisters to the late, Edward and Helen (Taraskiewicz) Solimine, and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1975.

Wayne was an avid Boston sports lover, especially the New England Patriots. He was notorious for his color commentary and could give sportscasters a run for their money. Growing up, Wayne loved to play hockey. To this day, he still enjoyed ice skating in the winter at the Veteran’s Memorial Rink in Haverhill where he taught his daughters to skate. Wayne also loved attending football games at his old high school in North Reading, vacationing to Aruba and Disney with his family, and watching anything sci-fi. Not one to shy away from hard work, he took pride in his long career in tile and construction, having worked on projects such as the “Big Dig” and the Hatch Memorial Shell in Boston. At the end of a long day, Wayne loved a good slice of pepper and mushroom pizza, a diet coke, and his mom's homemade whoopie pies. He loved to give treats to his best boy, Pepper. Wayne lived a simple, quiet life, but his many memories and everlasting spirit will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Wayne will be sadly missed but forever held in the hearts of his loving family and devoted wife of almost forty years, Pauline (Croisetiere) Solimine, cherished daughters, Jennifer and Chelsea Solimine of Haverhill, Massachusetts, brothers, Edward Solimine and his wife, Kathleen of Naples, Florida, Stephen Solimine and his wife, Peggy of Estero, Florida, and Scot Solimine and his wife, Barbara of Haverhill, sisters, Diane Solimine and her husband, Mark Wiley of Revere, Massachusetts, and Karen Solimine of Bedford, New Hampshire. Wayne is also survived by one nephew, several nieces, and his best friend since the First Grade, Dan Simes of Falmouth, Massachusetts.

A private Celebration of Wayne’s Life will take place later.
