IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia "Ginnie"
Plante
August 11, 1927 – July 11, 2022
Salem, NH: Virginia "Ginnie" Mary (Silva) Plante, of Salem and a former resident of Plaistow and New London, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at Salem Woods.
Born, raised, and educated in Concord, New Hampshire, daughter to the late Frank and Alicia (Keller) Silva, she was a graduate of Concord High School. She went on to begin her career of nearly fifty years in tele-communications where she met and fell in love with her husband.
Ginnie was an accomplished figure skater in her younger years, having won several awards, a talent she later shared with her children. She had a passion for sewing and needlepoint and was a talented seamstress. This eventually led to her own small business out of her home for many years. Some of Ginnie's favorite memories were those spent traveling with her husband throughout Europe, South and Central America and through Caribbean. Above all, spending time with family was most important to her.
She was pre-deceased this past March by her loving husband, Marcel "Mac" Plante. Ginnie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three sons, Stephen J. Plante and his significant other Sally Roach of Seattle, WA, Philip C. Plante and his wife Theresa of Hampstead, Mark A. Plante and his significant other Glenna Amero of Methuen, two daughters, Paula M. Plante of Tewksbury, MA, and Anne P. Miller and her husband Stephen of Lynn, MA; six grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Bryan, Renee, Valerie and Stephanie: nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Georgianna Silva of Concord, NH, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Plante, her brother, Frank Silva Jr., and sister, Alicia Silva Bly.
Private services will be held to celebrate Ginnie's life. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Brookhaven Hospice 114 Turnpike Rd. St. 206, Westborough, MA 01581.
