IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia
Kidder
March 9, 1921 – August 20, 2021
Virginia (Stavropoulos) Kidder, of Hampstead, NH, and formerly of Plaistow, NH, passed away on Friday August 20, 2021, at Lowell General Hospital, with her family by her side.
Born in Dracut, MA, she was the daughter of Greek immigrants, the late Emanuel and Marie (Dagras) Stavropoulos. Virginia grew up in Lowell, MA and was a graduate of Lowell High School. During World War II, she served her country as a seamstress at Fort Devens, MA, making parachutes and uniforms for the U.S. Army. After marriage to her late husband Edward, they resided in Plaistow, NH where she met her lifelong friend Muriel Rochussen. They spoke on the phone every Thursday evening right up until Virginia's death.
Virginia and Ed moved to Hampstead in 1964 where she started an antique store in her home called "Bric-A-Brac". She loved antiquing at flea markets and yard sales. She thought herself a very modern lady and enjoyed her title of "domestic engineer". Always a lady, she loved to dress up and go out, rarely without lipstick or a hat. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Good fortune often found her as she was quite lucky winning many a prize by entering raffles to raise monies for various community organizations. Virginia especially loved the company of others and she often frequented the Vic Geary Senior Center in Plaistow. She enjoyed attending worship service and church events at East Hampstead Union Christian Church.
She had a fondness for animals of all species and would often collect blankets and towels for donation to shelters. She proudly remained abreast of current events relying on WZID Radio for this purpose. The radio played loudly and constantly as she enjoyed listening to music by day and Delilah in the evening.
Virginia will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Phyllis Stavros of Port St. Lucie Florida and nephews; Charles Pentedemos and his wife, Judy of Pepperell, MA, Michael Stravros and his wife, Diane of Sacramento, CA, Michael Pentedemos and his wife, Lisa of Tulsa, OK, Joseph Pentedemos and his wife, Karla of Westford, MA, and nieces; Mary (Makos)Woodward and her husband, Timothy of Westford, MA, Marylou (Stavros) Kraemer and her husband, Bruce of Melbourne, FL, Peggy (Stavros)Reeves and her husband, Robert of Wilton, CT, Marybeth (Stavros)Lowe of Edgewater, MD, Barbara Jean (Stavros)Lee and her husband Van of Edgewater, MD and Dianna Stavros of North Carolina.
