Plaistow, NH: Virginia A. (Brown) Ceder, 80, of Plaistow,NH, died on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA.
Born in Newburyport, MA, daughter of the late John and Helen (Nice) Brown, she attended schools in Newburyport, graduating from Newburyport High School with the Class of 1950. She worked as a bench worker for the former Western Electric and A T & T Companies and for Lucent Technologies, North Andover, MA, until her retirement after twenty years of service. After retirement, she drove a school bus for the Timberlane School District.
A member of the Communication Workers of America (CWA), Mrs. Ceder enjoyed playing keno, Disney World and Traveling to Every State in the Lower 48.
The widow of E. Wayne Ceder who died in 2009, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Dennis LaRoche of Plaistow; a brother, Robert Brown of Maryland, a sister, Carol Buckley of Newburyport; three grandchildren, Devin LaRoche, Max LaRoche and Amber Ceder, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Wayne M. Ceder, who died in 2007.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, from 5 to 7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A (Plaistow Village), Plaistow, NH. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Storey Ave., Newburyport, MA.
