Obituary

Bradford: Violet (Roy) Lapierre, 89, of Bradford passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 13, 2020 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill.  She was the widow of Lucien Lapierre who passed in 2018.

Vi was born in Haverhill on January 19, 1931, the youngest of six children of Evelyn (Comeau) Roy.  She grew up during the depression in a family like so many others, struggling to get by but filled with love.  She attended St. James Grammar School and St James High School, graduating in 1948.

She married her beloved Lou in 1952 and settled in Bradford to start her family.  She and Lou had 4 children and she loved her life as a stay-at-home mom.  When her youngest was old enough, Vi went to work at Western Electric Company.  After her retirement, Vi and Lou enjoyed travelling and spending time with friends and family.  She loved spending winters in Florida, was a voracious reader but especially enjoyed playing cards with Lou, consistently taking all his quarters. Vi was a beautiful, kind, and caring woman who loved her church and adored her family.

Vi is survived by son Michael and his wife Janis of Bradford, son James of Hampstead, NH and daughter Susan and her fiancé Gary Guidi of Mashpee, MA, six grandchildren; Marc and Anjali LaPierre, Alexander and John LaPierre, Chloe and Benjamin Westcott; great-grandchildren Madison and Jordan LaPierre and many nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Katherine LaPierre, MD.

Calling hours are Friday, December 18 from 9-10:30 at Brookside Chapel in Plaistow NH, under the State of New Hampshire guidelines for social distancing and the wearing of masks, with a Funeral Mass at 11:30 at Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford.  Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Haverhill.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Sacred Hearts Food Pantry.
