Obituary

Plaistow: Violet L. (Pitts) Kimball, 89, a resident of Plaistow for sixty-five years, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 7, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Portageville, Missouri, daughter of the late Jay and Ila (Fisher) Pitts, she was educated locally and graduated from Gideon High School. As a young woman, she relocated to Washington, DC and worked for the FBI before marrying Glenn P. Kimball in 1953. They settled in Plaistow in 1956.

As an active member of the First Baptist Church and Plaistow community, Mrs. Kimball served on many committees and volunteer programs. As devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she enjoyed keeping a warm and inviting home for her family but was also a "neighborhood mom" with her children's friends always welcome. Mrs. Kimball enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, and visiting those in need of support. She worked for Timberlane Regional High School and Dr. Theodore Barratt in Haverhill. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling and spending time at the family ski house in Danbury, NH.

Predeceased in 2019 by her devoted husband of sixty-six years, Glenn P. Kimball, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughter and son-in-law, Karen S. and David Goodwin, Jr. of Plaistow, two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Glenn P. "Phil" Kimball, Jr. and Dr. Joan H. Kimball of Haverhill and Brett A. and Lisa Kimball of Sherrills Ford, NC, a brother Calvin Pitts, and a sister Peggy Niemeier, both of Missouri, eleven grandchildren, David Goodwin III, Benjamin Goodwin, Margaret (Goodwin) Conroy, Lauren (Kimball) Auger, Glenn H. Kimball, Dr. Kara Kimball, Alison Kimball, Jameson Kimball, Jordan (Kimball) Hirst, Gina Ehrlich, and Kelley Cranford, eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her companion of her final years, Forrest Wolfe of Wildomar, CA. She was predeceased by brothers, Charles and Jerry, and sisters, Doris, Deloma, and Brenda.

The family wishes to thank the friends—many from the First Baptist Church of Plaistow—who came to see "Vi" in her final months. There will be no calling hours, and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home of Plaistow. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
