Haverhill, MA: Victor J. R. Duphily, Jr., 79, of Haverhill, MA and formerly of Methuen, MA, died on May 22, 2018 at Wingate at Haverhill Nursing Home.
Born in New Bedford, MA on June 16, 1938, son of the late Victor J. R. and Harriet (Moore) Duphily, he attended the New Bedford Institute of Technology where he received his Associates Degree and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era.
He was employed as a Tester for the former Western Electric Company, North Andover, MA, retiring as a supervisor. He also worked as a motorcycle and foreign car mechanic. Mr. Duphily was known by many as a "mechanical genius", having built his own plane and recumbent bike. He enjoyed trail biking, motorcycling and scuba diving.
The widower of the late Bonnie (Murphy) Duphily, he is survived by two sons, Victor J. R. Duphily, III and his wife, Denise of Clinton, CT and Stephen J. Duphily and his wife, Stephanie of Plaistow, NH; one stepson, Thomas Paquin and his wife, Anne of Lancaster, NH; two stepsisters, Linda Roche and her husband, William of Haverhill, MA and Julie Tulley and her husband, Daniel of Methuen, MA and many grandchildren.
