Kingston, NH: Thomas D. Spinella, 89, of Kingston, NH died on June 22, 2014 at Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill, MA.
Born in Somerville, MA, son of the late Cyrus and Anna (McIntyre) Spinella, he moved to New Jersey as a young child and returned to Malden, MA where he attended Malden High School.
Mr. Spinella served in the United States Navy during World War II and was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, the American Area Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Medal.
Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Mr. Spinella was co-owner and operator of a poultry farm with his father. He was also employed as a layout operator by Western Electric Company, AT&T Technologies, and Lucent Technology, from where he retired.
A member of St. James Parish, he was also a member of the VFW of Kingston, the Communication Workers of America, AFL-CIO. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking trips to the beach.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Jean M. (Turgeon) Spinella, a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine M. and Daniel Tidd, a granddaughter, Trisha M. Tidd all of Kingston, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, George and Russell Spinella and his sister, Ann McCaul. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Wednesday, June 25 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, Haverhill, MA.
