Newton, NH: Thomas Karpowski, Jr., "Tom", 55, of Newton, NH, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, MA.

Born in Concord, MA, he was the son of Thomas and Joyce (Remes) Karpowski of North Carolina. Tom was a graduate of Ayer High School, Class of 1983, attended University of Hawaii, and went on to further his education in Information Technology. For over twenty years he was an Information Technology Manager at Bennett & Company, located in Newburyport, MA.

Tom loved the outdoors and greatly enjoyed time at the lake house in Washington, NH, boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. He also was an avid beekeeper and certified scuba diver. One of his favorite places to scuba dive was in Honduras, as well as many locations around the world, in some of the over forty countries he has traveled to.  Tom would often say to his family and friends that he was the "happiest guy in the world". An exceedingly kind, larger than life man, who was comfortable around anyone, no matter where in the world he was. He made great plans and then carried them out.

Tom will always be loved and cherished by his wife of twenty-one years, Patricia Fillio of Newton, NH, sons, Michael Karpowski of Ayer, MA, and David Fillio and his wife, Elizabeth Diaz-Fillio of Plaistow, NH, grandchildren, Ryley Karpowski of Ayer, MA, Josiah Rivera, Gavin Rivera, Rozelyn Fillio, and Isaac Fillio of Plaistow, NH, brother, Kenneth Karpowski of St. Louis, MO, sister, Kathy Karpowski of Alabama, mother-in-law, Marilyn Henderson of North Reading, MA. He was predeceased by his daughter, Allison Fillio.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, March 14, 2021, from 3 pm to 5pm, at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH, following the guidelines of the State of New Hampshire for wearing of face coverings and social distancing.
