November 13, 1942 – June 4, 2019
North Hampton, NH: Thomas M. Hansen, 76, a resident of North Hampton for the past five weeks, and a former longtime resident of Newton, NH and Plum Island died June 4, 2019 at his home following an extended illness.
Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, son of the late Albert T. and Mary (Smith) Hansen, he was raised and educated in the Bradford section of the city and graduated from the former Haverhill Trade School with the Class of 1960. He furthered his education and was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working principally for the former Haverhill Municipal (Hale) Hospital and Lowell Health Care Center.
Mr. Hansen owned and operated Tom's Coins at the Carriage Town Plaza for several years until his final retirement in 2017. He also enjoyed taking part in local and regional flea markets.
A resident of Merrimac, MA for many years, where he served on the Merrimac Volunteer Fire Department, he was also active as a Boy Scout Troop Leader. An avid New England Patriots' fan, he also enjoyed freshwater and deep sea fishing, collecting sports memorabilia, boating, traveling and cruises.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of twenty years, Anne M. (Tullercach) Hansen, two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Ann Hansen, of Lasalle, CO, and Brendon and Eileen Hansen of Epping, NH, a daughter, Tammy Miner of Raymond, NH, a daughter and son-in-law Stacey and Michael Moore of Amesbury, MA, a brother and sister-in-law, John W. and Diane Hansen of Fremont, NH, a sister Mary Jane Pike and her significant other Butch Hamel of Haverhill, MA, several grandchildren, three step-children David S. Szczechowicz, Darren Szczechowicz and his wife Elizabeth, and Sarah Goldie and her husband Pete, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Cindy Hansen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Thomas's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Instead of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Constellation Health Services and Hospice, 180 Low St., Newburyport, MA.
