Obituary

Haverhill: Just 9 days after successfully completing her 88 th trip around the sun, Theresa Mary (Mazza) Webster left this earth, as a result of complications from COVID-19. She fought a tough battle, but in the end the virus won. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Theresa was born in Haverhill on December 26, 1932, one of ten children of the late Gaspero "Charles" and Theresa (Scalise) Mazza. She was married for sixty years to the late Russell E. Webster,  and was predeceased by brothers Joseph, Tony, Frank, Albert, Michael and Victor Mazza, and sisters Lena Dallaire, Jay Florent and Rose McGauley. She is survived by her daughters, Laurie Webster Williams and her husband Don, Maureen Paradis and her husband Brian, and son Mel and his wife Kathleen Sullivan.

A lifelong Haverhill resident, Theresa lived most of the last five years at Haverhill Crossings in Haverhill, moving to Penacook Place this past September. Our family cannot say enough about the care she received at both places. The staff at Haverhill Crossings treated her like their own mother and she returned the love equally. And while she was only at Penacook for three months, they too provided top quality care and comfort.

A working mother before there really was such a thing, Theresa spent many years at the Internal Revenue Service, then moved to Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent, where she worked for more than twenty years before retiring. In her spare time, Theresa loved knitting and crocheting, crossword puzzles and candlepin bowling, and hosting friends and family at her home, mostly for coffee and dessert!

In addition to her children, Theresa leaves five grandchildren, Erik Paradis and his wife Tara, Lindsey Guild and her husband Derek, Taylor Paradis, Elisabeth Webster and Thomas Webster. She also leaves four great grandchildren, Jacob Crandelmere, Jude and Gideon Paradis, and Luka Guild; as well as dozens of nieces and nephews, many who thought of her as their second mother.

Due to COVID-19, we will be holding no services at this time. The hope is that at some point we return to some level of normalcy and we can have a celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry, 6 Cottage St, Haverhill, MA.

Arrangements are under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. To send a message of condolence to the family or to share a cherished memory, please visit www.berubecomeau.com
