Obituary

Haverhill: Theresa A. (Roy) Sansoucie, 97, of Haverhill, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, with her daughter, Paula, at her side. Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina (Blanchette) Roy. She graduated from Saint Anne's Grammar School and Lawrence High School with the Class of 1943. She was the wife of Leo R. Sansoucie, who predeceased her in 2012, after sixty-one years of marriage. Theresa was a strong and independent woman who enjoyed life to the fullest, even until her final day, which she spent trying on dresses for her grandson's upcoming wedding. Looking as vibrant as ever she proclaimed it "a very happy day".
Theresa began her working career as a clerk typist at the Charlestown Navy Yard during World War Two. She was later employed at Western Electric Co., Senter Transportation Company, and finally retired from the Haverhill Teachers' Credit Union as a bookkeeper.

Theresa's greatest joy was the happiness and love that she shared with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her marriage to Leo was a happy and cherished time spent with her best friend in life. She and her husband enjoyed dancing, biking, walking, music, gardening, traveling and many Saturday evenings playing cards with their many good friends. She was an avid reader who would withdraw several books at a time from the Haverhill Public Library and returned them within a week completely read. She was knowledgeable regarding world topics and politics and was always very informed when it came to investing. Theresa was still completing crossword puzzles and Sudoko well into her nineties. In her younger years as a grandmother, she thoroughly enjoyed gathering her large family for Sunday dinner at her home and entertaining all "the kids", as well as picking up her grandchildren after school sports or transporting them to their next game.

Theresa was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and is survived by her daughter, Paula Kelley, her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Dianne Sansoucie, and Brian and Margaret "Peggy" Sansoucie, all of Haverhill and son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Dhyana Sansoucie, of Meridian, Idaho; grandchildren Anthony Fiorino, of Haverhill, Matthew Sansoucie and fiance Sara Walsh, of Plaistow, NH, Jillian Enright and husband Scott, of Nashua, NH, Jason Sansoucie and wife, Sara, of Everett, WA, Laura Sansoucie and husband Rory, of Haverhill, Ashley Kelley of Haverhill, Guy Kelley,III and wife Jessica, of Longview, TX, and Lauren Sansoucie, of Meridian, ID; great-grandchildren, Lyla Kelley, Penelope Sansoucie, Wyatt O'Donnell, Adeline O'Donnell, Guy F. Kelley,IV, Camden Enright, Jacob Enright; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Roy and sisters, Pauline Filteau, Claire Davis and Lillian Ellis.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 12 o'clock p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street., Plaistow, NH.
