Haverhill, MA; Theresa V. O'Brien 85, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Penacook Place surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Peabody, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Hedwig (Szybiak) Secorsky. Raised and educated in Peabody, she was a graduate of Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical High School. She later went on to earn her associate's degree in Eldercare from Northern Essex Community College. Theresa began her working career at Western Electric in assembly and later went on to work for Hale Hospital in both security and as a dietary aide in Haverhill for many years before her retirement. She was also an active member of the Hale Hospital Union and was proud of having been the Chief Union Stewart for many years.

Theresa was a talented seamstress, and often made stuffed animals, dolls, doll clothing and quilts for friends and family. She loved cooking traditional Polish meals as a homage to her heritage. Theresa also had a green thumb and grew her own vegetables and had beautiful flower gardens. Above all, spending time with her family was most important.

Theresa is survived by her loving sons, Edward O'Brien, Jr., and his wife, Mary of Bradford, MA and Patrick O'Brien of Merrimack, MA; a brother, Henry Secorsky of Brentwood, NH and cousin and close friend, Sandy Casale. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Louis Secorsky and her sister, Mary Lesiczka.

Private services will be held for family and close friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home of Plaistow, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Theresa's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
