Obituary

Haverhill: Beloved mother and grandmother, Theresa (Morin) Boucher, 93, of Haverhill died on March 16, 2017 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, after a blessed and joyful life.

Born on September 3, 1923, Theresa was the second oldest of ten children of the late Auguste and Mathilde (Arsenault) Morin. One of the first babies baptized in the then newly-built St Joseph's Church, Theresa was a lifelong parishioner of All Saints Parish. She attended St. Joseph's grammar school and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1941. She then attended Macintosh Business School and was first employed at W.T. Grant's in downtown Haverhill. Theresa worked for many years at Western Electric, before starting a family. After raising her daughter, she returned to work at Haverhill High School as an assistant to the unit directors until her retirement.

Theresa married the love of her life, Conrad Boucher, in 1962. Together they raised their beloved daughter, Jeanne, and shared 32 wonderful years of marriage until Conrad's death in 1995. Through all her years, she remained an intelligent, independent woman with a beautiful smile and a twinkle in her eye who expressed every day her deep gratitude for all the blessings in her life, most especially her family.  She treasured her grandchildren, and being their "Memere" was her greatest joy.

Theresa's great faith and strong Catholic values were a beautiful example to those who knew her, and she prayed the Rosary daily for over 80 years.  She had a lifelong love of books and was an avid reader and crafter, skilled at sewing, crochet, and card-making. She enjoyed making puzzles and loved to visit Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Conrad Boucher and is survived by her daughter, Jeanne (Boucher) Cross and her husband David of Atkinson, NH; two brothers, Emile Morin and his wife Cecile of Haverhill, and William Morin of Exeter; four sisters, Margaret Nordengren of Bradford, Claire Moll and her husband Paul of Haverhill, Elizabeth DeLuca and her husband Richard of Plaistow, and Jeanne Comiskey of Haverhill; her four devoted grandchildren, Thomas Cross, Elizabeth Cross, Margaret Cross and Emma Cross; dearest friend, Jeannette Coulle of Haverhill, and thirty-one nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Louise Morin; brothers Paul Morin, and John Morin and his wife Evelyn; brothers-in-law Edward Nordengren and Peter Comiskey; sister-in-law Carol Morin; and her dearest cousin, Mary-Rose Barnes.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pregnancy Care Center, 496 Main Street, Haverhill, MA 01830, or to Catholic TV, PO Box 9196, Watertown, MA 02471 .
