Sylvia A. (Gosselin) Gagnon, age 86, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Andre Gagnon.
She was born, raised and educated in Lawrence, MA. Sylvia was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lillian (Dejourdy) Gosselin. She was a graduate of St. Anne's High School, Class of 1955. Sylvia retired as a tax examiner from the IRS after 20 years of employment. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist in Plaistow, NH. She enjoyed traveling, cruises, and trips to Wolfeboro. Sylvia most especially cherished the time spent with her family. Sylvia was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be dearly missed.
Sylvia is survived by her children Andy Gagnon and his wife Sharon of Haverhill, MA, Peter Gagnon and his wife Donna of Newton, NH, Judith Gagnon of NH, Paula Gagnon and her partner Dave Deshaies of Killington, VT, and Brenda Gioia and her husband Chuck of Haverhill, MA, her grandchildren Amanda Gagnon, Kerri Beltran, Peter Gagnon Jr., Chris Gagnon, Karen Grover, Shannon Swanson, P.J. Lanouette, Amelia Gebala, Megan Lanouette, Tanner Neal, Brianne Neal, Michael Apostolou, Jake Mulcahy, and Bethany Williams, her 20 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was sadly predeceased by her daughters Mary Gagnon and Caryn Gagnon, and her siblings Connie Grew, Monica Pitman, Ray Gosselin and Jack Gosselin. The Gagnon family would like to thank Merrimack Valley Hospice, and Ada, Sylvia's health aid for their service and care.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11am at Elmwood Cemetery 130 N. Lowell St., Methuen, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Plaistow, NH.
