Kingston, NH: Susan E. (Jones) (Weader) Hall, 74, a longtime resident Kingston, died January 3, 2022 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
She was born in Rochester, New York, daughter of the late Carl and Jacqueline (Oerth) Jones. As the daughter of a minister, her family relocated several times as she was growing up and she graduated from Cranston Rhode Island High School with the Class of 1965. She later received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from The University of Connecticut and later her Master's Degree in Education from Framingham State College.
Susan was employed as a Home Economics teacher at the C. D. Hunking Middle School in Bradford, MA, for twenty years. She later taught in the same capacity at Heskett Middle School in Bedford Heights, Ohio until her retirement. Most recently she operated and managed a family property in Kingston known as C & J Cottages.
She was married to James H. Weader until his death in 1982 and was left to raise her two young sons as a devoted single mother. She later married her second husband Malcolm T. Hall in 2000 and moved with him to Hollis, Maine for several years and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, while maintaining her connections to her family home in Kingston. She returned to the area and settled in to her home on Kingston Lake three years ago.
Susan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brentwood. An accomplished musician, she played the bassoon as a member of the Seacoast Community Orchestra and the Cuyahoga Falls Community Orchestra.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of twenty-one years, Malcolm T. Hall, two sons, Joshua B. Weader and his wife Judith of Sharon, MA, and Jeremy E. Weader of Kingston, two grandchildren Callie Weader and Nicholas Weader of Sharon, a brother David C. Jones of Westfield, MA, a sister Rebecca Graham, of Billerica, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Jones.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 4 to 5 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. A funeral service will follow at 5 PM in the funeral home with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston, NH. At the family's requests, MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA, or to First Baptist Church of Brentwood, 201 North Road, Brentwood, NH.
