Susan M. MacKenzie age 62 of Newton, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on January 27, 1953 in Salem, MA the daughter of the late Charles and Barbara (Nickerson) Griffin. She was raised and educated in Wakefield, MA and graduated from Wakefield Memorial High School, Class of 1971.

She had worked as an office manager for various companies in the plumbing industry over the past 20 years.

Susan had a love of reading, gardening, camping and photography. She loved spending time at her time share in Rangeley, ME and taking long rides along the coastline. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and especially with her grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul A. MacKenzie of Newton, NH. Her daughters; Anastasia Ferguson and husband, John of Limerick, ME and Jennifer Houston and husband, Craig of Manchester, NH. Her son, Michael Saunders and wife, Amanda J. of Haverhill, MA. Her sisters; Nancy A. Van Valkenburgh and husband, Richard of New Gloucester, ME, Jane Kopp and husband, Kenneth of Andover, MA and Patricia Nolan and husband, Timothy of Haverhill, MA. Her grandchildren, Trey and Joseph Ferguson. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive her.

Friends and family are invited to attend Mrs. MacKenzie's Life Celebration on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 4-8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 9 AM. Burial will follow the services in Highland Cemetery on Highland Street in Newton, NH.
