Danville, NH:  Susan M. (Nelson) Doherty, RN, of Danville, NH and formerly of South Boston, died on March 24, 2022.

Born in Braintree, MA, Susan was the daughter of the late Ernest and Annette (Beaudoin) Nelson.  Raised and educated in Braintree, she attended Braintree High School, graduating with the Class of 1974, and also attended Quincy Junior College where she received an Associate's Degree in Nursing.  She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Brighton, in the Cardiology Department at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, as well as in the Blood Donor Center at Massachusetts General Hospital.  She also worked for the Rockingham Visiting Nurse Association and for various insurance companies.

A Justice of the Peace for the State of NH, Susan was also a member of the Massachusetts Nursing Association.  An avid gardener, she enjoyed antiquing, picnics along the Cape Cod Canal and occasional visits to Sullivan's at Castle Island for a delicious meal.

Susan will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of thirty-eight years, James W. Doherty; two brothers, Ernest Nelson of California and Robert Nelson of Nashua, NH; five nieces, one nephew and several cousins.  She was pre-deceased by a brother, Donald Nelson.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.  Her Funeral Service will follow at 7:30 PM in the funeral home.  Donations in her name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, P.O.
