Steven J. Drelick - Derry, NH

Steven J. Drelick, age 65 of Derry, passed away at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston on January 20, 2013 following a lengthy battle with heart disease. Steven was born in Haverhill, Ma on November 17, 1947.

He attended Sacred Hearts School in Bradford and graduated from the Haverhill Trade School Auto Repair Department in 1965.

He worked as a mechanic in area shops and joined the United States Army. Steven served his country from 1966-1970. He was stationed in Germany as a tank mechanic SP/5 class. Following his military service, Steven also worked for local trucking companies and owned K&S Trucking. He worked for the United States Post Office until his retirement.

Steven loved his family with all his heart. He also enjoyed helping his longtime friend Ed Thurston restoring antique cars. Steven was also a member of the Plaistow Lions Club since 1997. He was on the board of directors and was chairman of their Thanksgiving basket distribution program for a number of years and enjoyed helping with this yearly event.

Steven leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Kathleen (Kehoe) Drelick of Derry, NH, his son, Philip Drelick and wife, Jennifer of Bradford, Ma, daughter, Rosemary Todd and her husband Michael of Sandown, NH and his mother-in-law, Marion Kehoe of Methuen, MA. He also leaves behind two very special grandchildren, Kevin Balukas and Kelsey Drelick as well as many loving brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends, all who will miss him dearly. Steven was also predeceased by his daughter Danica. He will be missed by all that knew him but will never be forgotten and will live in our hearts and memories forever.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday January 24, 2013 from 5 - 8:00 PM at Berube-Comeau Funeral 47 Broadway Haverhill, MA 01832. Steven's funeral will begin on Friday January 25, 2013 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Sacred Hearts Church 165 South Main Street in Bradford, MA. Burial will be private and take place at a later date at the request of the family.
