Hampstead, NH: Stanley M. Lapham, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 8, 1935, he was the son to the late Elsie M. (Chittick) Fitch and George M. Lapham.
Stanley attended grammar school in Hyde Park, MA, before moving to Hampstead. He was a graduate of Hampstead High School class of 1952. Following graduation, Stanley proudly joined the United States Navy and was an aviation electronics technician.
Stanley married Gail J. Clark and they began their loving journey together in 1960. He worked at Western Electric Company for over thirty-five years as a supervisor and as a liaison to vendors. He was also a part time police officer in Hampstead until 1974 and volunteered with the East Hampstead Fire Department.
Stanley was "Campfire Father" of the year in 1975 and was active in his children's activities. He had been an active member of the Hampstead Congregational Church, as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Moderator. He was also a member of the Gideon Lodge of Masons, Kingston.
Stanley greatly enjoyed cruises to many parts of the world, train rides through the Rocky Mountains, yearly trips to Aruba and Boothbay Harbor in Maine. He and Gail had many amazing travel adventures together. Stan was in charge of the grill and cooking the lobsters during many family gatherings. It pleased him to know what his grandchildren were doing. When he was not traveling, Stan could be found relaxing in his recliner listening to the "Big Bands".
