Haverhill, MA: Stanley Anuszewski, 97 years old, died on Sunday November 27, 2016 at Wingate Haverhill where he had lived for the last four years. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Stanley was born on May 10, 1919 to Polish immigrants Franciszek and Magdalena (Wos) Anuszewski.

A graduate of Haverhill High School, Stanley was a proud member of the Greatest Generation, serving in the United States Army Air Force from 1941 to 1945 in North Africa and Italy. Upon his return Stanley began a career as a jewelry and fine giftware salesman, working at Bigelow Kennard Fine Jewelry in Boston's Back Bay and then as a representative of Webster Silversmiths of Attleboro, MA, serving New England and upstate New York. A man of deep faith, Stanley was a member of All Saints Parish and a member of the former St. Michael's Church. In the 1940's and 1950's Stanley was a member of Haverhill's Holy Name Choir. A benefactor to many Polish and Catholic organizations, in 1974 Stanley was proud to be named Man of the Year for his contributions to St. Mary's High School, the parish school of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church of Worcester, MA.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was predeceased by his siblings, brother T. Edward Anuszewski and his wife Janina, and sisters Mary (Anuszewski) Sheehan and her husband Richard and Sophie (Anuszewski) Adams and her husband Frank. Stanley was the devoted Uncle to ten loving nieces and nephews, including his caregivers Mark Sheehan and his wife Elaine and Nancy Adams and her husband Paul Bergeron, all of Haverhill, and Richard Sheehan and his wife Carole of Moody Beach, ME. Also Cynthia Adams, and Patricia (Adams) Whalen and her husband David, all of Cambridge, MA, Kathleen (Sheehan) Casey and her husband William of Atkinson, NH, Jean (Anuszewski) Cooper of Skaneateles, NY, Jerome Sheehan and his wife Donna of Plaistow, NH, and Thomas Anuszewski and his wife Kathleen and Robert Anuszewski and his wife Kathy, all of Kennebunkport, ME. He is also survived by 17 dear grand nieces and nephews and a growing number of great-grand nieces and nephews who will learn of their Uncle Stanley through stories their parents and grandparents will fondly tell.

The family thanks the staff at Wingate Haverhill and Compassus Hospice that provided care and support to Stanley in the last years of his life.
