Haverhill: Simone M. J. (Chevalier) Carignan 84, a resident of Haverhill for most of her life, died peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lowell, daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Pelletier) Chevalier, she moved to Haverhill as a child and attended Saint Joseph Grammar School.   Mrs. Carignan Was formerly employed as an inspector at Raytheon Co. and Western Electric and had also been employed at Malden Mills and as the Head Cashier at both the former W.T. Grants and Mal's Department Store in Haverhill.
A former resident of Atkinson, NH from 2000 until 2006 before moving back to Haverhill, Mrs. Carignan was a resident of Mission Towers where she enjoyed her many friendships and card games with her neighbors. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, and playing bingo.
Predeceased by her husband Armand F. Carignan in 2005, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Mark Boucher of Atkinson, NH, Susan Tracey of Haverhill, and Sharon and Scott Lever of Methuen, a sister Theresa Sturk of Haverhill and a brother, Maurice Chevalier of Merrimac, also eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to High Ponte Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA.
