Atkinson, NH: Shirley R. (Stickney) (Cram) Collins, 86, of Atkinson and a former resident of Haverhill, MA, died on November 3, 2014 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Born, raised, and educated in Haverhill, daughter of the late Arthur E. and Doris V. (Royce) Stickney, she graduated from Haverhill High School.
Mrs. Collins was employed in the local shoe industry as a young woman and later as a tester at Western Electric Company and AT&T Technologies for thirty-five years. She was most recently employed as a security guard at Northern Essex Community College, from where she retired.
A member of Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, she was also a member of the Communications Workers of America and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She enjoyed bowling in local leagues, knitting, crocheting afghans, and making crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Maurice "Jake" Collins, a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne D. and Janet Cram of Ocala, FL, two daughters, Beverly A. Cram of Ocala, FL, and Marcia D. Hamel and her husband Edward of Haverhill, a brother Herbert Alley of New Hampshire, a sister Annabelle Riley of Newton, NH, twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband Wayne Cram.
Relatives and friends may call today, November 4, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH and also on Wednesday morning, November 5, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow, NH.
