Danville, NH:  Shirley E. (Carbone) Spencer, 86, a resident of Danville for the last seventeen years, died Wednesday evening, July 7, 2021, at Lahey-Hitchcock Medical Center in Burlington, MA.

Born in Malden, MA, daughter of the late Francis and Evelyn (Gerry) Carbone, she attended schools in Linden, Massachusetts before moving with her family to Plaistow. She graduated from the Sanborn Seminary with the Class of 1953, and later took courses in Computer and Typing.

Mrs. Spencer was employed first for the former Western Electric Co. and later as a cafeteria worker at Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, and finally for ten years as a data processor at Raytheon Co. until her retirement.

A resident of Plaistow for over fifty years before moving to Danville in 2003, she was a longtime member of the former Holy Angels Parish, where she was a sixty-year member of the parish choir and also served as the soloist for weddings and funerals. Music was a large part of her life, and she was also a member of the Plaistow Music Co-Op. An accomplished photographer, she once earned a second place award in the Raytheon Photo Contest. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and was presently a member of Saint Anne's Parish of Hampstead.

Predeceased in 2016 by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, John E. Spencer, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin D. and Karen Spencer of Stark, NH, J. Eric and Teri Spencer of Guilford, CT, Gerry E. and Crystal Spencer of Fremont, and Jeffrey T. and Renee Spencer of Danville; four grandchildren, Ryan Spencer, Jennifer Spencer, John F. Spencer and Victoria Spencer; a sister, Virginia Carpenter of Littleton, NH, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Carbone and a sister, Lois Buttrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow.
