Derry, NH:  Shirley L. (Card) Ethier, 90, a resident of Haverhill for most of her life, died peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her home in Derry, surrounded by loving family members.

Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Walton and Blanche (Matthews) Card, she attended Haverhill schools and graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1949.

Mrs. Ethier worked first for Merrimack Valley Tool Co. and later was employed at Western Electric Co. and AT & T Technologies, before her retirement. She was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Rita's Parish.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Ethier enjoyed bowling, visiting with her friends, family times spent at Poland Springs, Maine, Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire and at the family camp in Parsonsfield, Maine and trips to Florida.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Charles Ethier, of Derry, three sons, Charles Ethier, Jr., and his wife Kathy of Kingston, NH, Jeffrey Ethier of Parsonsfield, ME, and Michael Ethier and his wife Minerva of Plaistow, grandchildren Andrea Ethier –Wijsen and her husband Seadon of Kingston, Derek Ethier of Kingston, Crystal Nolet and her husband Keith of Derry, with whom she recently made her home, and Stephanie Ethier of Haverhill, great grandchildren, Cal Wijsen, Emma Nolet, Thomas Ethier and Sophia Rogers. She was predeceased in 2003 by her son, Paul Ethier and grandson, Noah Ethier.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 12 O'clock Noon at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will be at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home and followed by burial in Maplewood Cemetery, Plaistow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis TN.
