Freedom, NH: Shirley T. (Fontaine) Dill, 91, of Freedom and a former resident of Haverhill, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, daughter of the late Mozart and Cecile (Cartier) Fontaine, she attended Saint Joseph School and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1948. As a young woman she worked as a secretary and clerk at Family Bank and Bank of Boston.

Family was the primary focus of Mrs. Dill's life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and was an inspiration and a source of support and strength throughout their lives.

A lifelong member of All Saints Parish, The Ladies of Saint Anne and the former Saint Joseph Parish, she enjoyed playing bingo and celebrating the holidays and special events with her family.

Predeceased by her husband John Dill, Jr., her sons David Dill and John P. Dill and her sister, Priscilla Chapman, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia A. and Robert Wentworth of Freedom, with whom she made her home for the past two years, and Judy A. and John Call of Haverhill, a son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Janice Dill of Haverhill, a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Laurence Pare, of North Andover, MA, fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Dill's Life Celebration on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.  Her funeral service will be held on Monday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Saint Joseph Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Visiting Nurse Home Care & Hospice of Carroll County and Western ME, P.O.
