Plaistow: Shirley A. (Cook) Sawtell, 55, of Plaistow, died December 18, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born in Cambridge, daughter of John F. and Shirley (Marshall) Cook, she was raised in Cambridge, Billerica and Plaistow and attended Pollard School and graduated from Timberlane Regional High School.

Shirley was trained as a pharmacy technician and was first employed for several years at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and for the last seven years at Hampstead Hospital.

A devoted grandmother, she also enjoyed, hiking, arts and crafts and playing pool.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of twenty years, Richard C. White, a son Daniel R. Dufour and his wife Kim Zajicek of Allenstown, her mother and step-father Shirley and Edward Young of Orlando, Florida, her father and step-mother, John and Jean Cook of Andover, NH, two brothers John Cook, Jr. of Sandown, and Chris Cook of Manchester, four sisters, Cheryl Bilodeau of Newton, Denise Butzine of Plaistow, Debra White of Florida and Kim Kelly of Dublin, Ireland, six grandchildren, Lukas, Jakob, Makswell, Dominic, Castle and Lora, also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shirley's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
