IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sheila M.
Dorman
September 29, 1950 – May 2, 2025
Sheila Marie Dorman (Kolba), 74, of Sandown, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 29, 1950, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Sheila lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends and community.
A proud graduate of Tenney High School's Class of 1968, Sheila carried the values of compassion and service with her throughout her life. She married the love of her life, Mike Dorman, and together they shared 48 beautiful years of marriage, 41 of which they resided on Timberlane Road in Plaistow in the house that Mike built for their family. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
Sheila was predeceased by her sister Elaine Barto and her parents Walter and Josephine Kolba. Sheila leaves behind her sister Judy Barto of Pennsylvania and her family. She was a devoted mother to three children: Laura Ross and her husband Daniel of Sandown; Fred Welch and his wife Christy of Long Beach, Mississippi; and Maribeth Murphy of Kingston. Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and she extended that same fierce love to her grandchildren—Kendralee Dziedzic and her husband Jon of Effingham; Brandi Jordan of Haverhill; Ricky Welch of Long Beach, Mississippi, Benjamin Murphy of Kingston and Jenna Richards of Plaistow; as well as her great-grandchildren: Elianna Jordan; Savannah Lee Dziedzic; Noah George Dziedzic; and Harlee. Each generation was touched by Sheila's warmth, generosity, and boundless affection.
Sheila's vibrant personality made her the heart of every gathering. Her radiant smile could light up any room, and her outgoing nature drew people in wherever she went. Whether surrounded by family or meeting someone new, Sheila had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued.
Her passions were many. She found joy in gardening and camping—activities that allowed her to connect with nature and those she loved. A lifelong animal lover, Sheila cared deeply for her pets, who brought comfort and companionship throughout the years.
Sheila also dedicated herself to causes close to her heart. She was actively involved in "Caring and Sharing," an organization that raised funds for town monuments honoring active-duty soldiers during Desert Storm; this program was especially near and dear to her heart as her son, Freddy, served in Desert Storm. Her commitment to global understanding led her to participate in programs like Up with People and a student exchange initiative that fostered cultural connections across borders.
Faith played a central role in Sheila's life. She held a strong belief that Jesus would be welcoming her home—a source of peace that guided her through life's joys and challenges alike.
Sheila Marie Dorman leaves behind a legacy defined by love, service, faith, and joy. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her—from family members who felt the depth of her devotion to friends who were uplifted by her spirit.
