Sharon Ann Lay (Mitchell), 72, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones January 1, 2017.

Born January 26, 1944 in Haverhill, Massachusetts to Howard and Rita Mitchell, Sharon was in Haverhill High's graduating class of 1961.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles D. Lay of Phoenix, Arizona; five children, Dan MacLeod of Chandler, AZ, Brian MacLeod of Mansfield, MA, Keith MacLeod of Maine, Amy MacLeod of Merrimac, MA, and Jennifer McGinnis of Phoenix, AZ; sister Connie Lavoie of Haverhill, MA, brother Bob Mitchell of Haverhill, MA, and sister Judy Day of Salem, NH.

Sharon was a loving Memere to ten grandchildren:  Daniel, Ben, Dustin, Kahley, Kristie, Shamus, Katelyn, Eric, Amy, and Brandon.

To all who knew her, Sharon was a passionate, beautiful person.

Services will be held Friday January 20th at Brookside Chapel at 116 Main Street in Plaistow, NH.  Calling hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow.
