Hampstead, NH: Scott Grayson Wain, 68, a longtime resident of Hampstead, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, and following an extended illness.

Born in Saugus, Massachusetts, son of the late Donald and Merle (Austin) Wain, he was raised and educated in Hampstead and Atkinson, graduating from Timberlane Regional High School.

A licensed plumber, Scott owned and operated Scott G. Wain Plumbing and Heating for several years, and later worked for Cash Mechanical and Lewis Builders, and finally at DENRON Plumbing and H.V.A.C of Manchester, NH, until his retirement. He was proud of his chosen field of work, and was a willing and valued mentor to journeymen and apprentices coming into the trade.

Scott was a devoted "Grampa" to his six grandchildren, and also enjoyed  home improvement projects and landscaping around his home, motorcycling, and getting together with his many friends.

He will be sadly missed and dearly remembered by his loving wife of forty-three years, Twila (Currier) Wain, two sons and daughters-in-law, Garrett G. and Stephanie Wain of Deerfield, and Jordan A. and Jessica Wain of Nottingham, a daughter Lauren B. Wain of Epping, two sisters, Donna Mackie of Florida, and Robin Price of Plaistow, six grandchildren, Shayne Moore, Ashlynn Wain, Jackson Wain, Joshua Wain, Austin Wain and Kyra King and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Brianna in 1981 and his brother Bruce E. Wain.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and relatives share a special memory or photo of Scott for the family scrapbook.
