Obituary

Scott B. Schultz, 61, of Laconia, passed away at his home on Friday, October 6, 2023. He was the son of Elaine (Renaud) and the late James Schultz. Scott was born in Haverhill, MA, and raised in nearby West Newbury, MA where he attended Pentucket High School. A proud veteran, Scott enlisted in the US Army as a teenager. He was stationed at The Pond Barracks in Amberg, Germany where he served as border patrol from 1980 to 1984. Scott drove an M88 recovery tank vehicle and used his mechanical skills to recover and fix tanks in need. It was while serving in the Army that Scott discovered his interest in weaponry and developed a passion for target shooting that would last all his life. Scott also developed a love for competitively racing cars and snowmobiles. Among his many racing accomplishments, he was Track Champion three years in a row in the 1990s at Star Speedway in Epping, NH, as well as consistently placing in the top 3 while racing with the Roadrunners as Volkswagen #33. Scott was a talented and accomplished mechanic and carpenter, known to those in his life as a true MacGyver who could fix just about anything. Much like his father, he was passionate about teaching others the skills he acquired over his life; especially to his children, who regarded him as a fountain of knowledge. Scott's most cherished memories were the time he spent with his animals, friends, and his family, whether it was with his parents and siblings at their lake house on Kingston Lake, Merrymeeting Lake, or tinkering around with and racing go-karts in the backyard mud track with the kids. Some of Scott's other hobbies included riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, canoeing, playing guitar, and flying model airplanes. At the end of his life, Scott was a proud and loving opa - Scott was always happiest with his loved ones, as they were happiest when they were with him. He will be forever loved, and forever missed.

Scott is survived by his mother Elaine of Kingston, NH, his children Shaun Schultz of Epping, NH, Jeffery Schultz of Springvale, ME, and Marlayna Schultz and her Husband Duncan of Littleton, NH, His beloved grandchildren Drew, Serenity, Mason, Ashlynn, Adrian, Isabella, Oriah, Romee, and Micah.
