Sandown, NH: Scott Atkins, 47, a resident of Sandown for over twenty years, died Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Exeter Hospital.

Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, son of Thomas and Diana (Kelly) Atkins, he was raised and educated in Atkinson, NH, where he played Youth Baseball and attended the Atkinson Academy. He was a 1990 graduate of Timberlane Regional High School, where he was a member of the Varsity Football Team.

Most recently employed by the Town of Sandown, Scott previously worked as a propane installer for Difeo Oil and Propane.

He was an avid Giants fan and also enjoyed following NASCAR racing, fishing, and ice fishing. Known as the "neighborhood dad" Scott enjoyed pickup games of basketball with his sons, and organizing football and basketball games with all of the other children in the Trues Parkway neighborhood of Sandown.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of twenty-one years, Kelly (O'Brien) Atkins, two sons, Scott A. Atkins and Joseph C. Atkins of Sandown, his parents, Thomas and Diana Atkins, of Madison, Maine, a brother and sister-in-law, David and Lisa Atkins of Atkinson, a brother Thomas Atkins, of Madison, ME, a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Carolyn O'Brien, a brother-in-law, Sean O'Brien and his wife, Renee of Northfield, a sister-in-law, Colleen Johnson and her husband, Paul of Danville and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to Scott's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
