Andover, MA: Sandra Lewis Thayer, 72, of Andover, MA, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lori Thayer Jennings and Joseph P. Jennings, on May 12, 2013.

She was born in Melrose, MA on May 26, 1940, the daughter of the late Richard S. Lewis and Marilyn (Lent) (Lewis) Feran. Sandra grew up in Lynnfield, MA and spent her summers on Scraggy Neck, Cape Cod, MA. She attended Melrose High School, graduating with the Class of 1957 and also attended two years at Colby Sawyer Junior College. Sandra served as a stay-at-home mom and later worked as an Administrative Assistant for Fishery Products International, Danvers, until retirement.

Sandra's pastimes were gardening, golfing and enjoying her animals, especially her beloved dog, "Murphy".

Sandra is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Teresa Thayer, Jr. of Chelmsford, MA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Michael Blake of Newton, NH and Lori and Joseph Jennings, Jr. of Plaistow, NH. She was loved by her grandchildren, Nicholas, Lauren and Andrew Thayer and Ashley and Lindsey Blake. She is survived by brothers, Robert Lewis of Atkinson, NH and Terry Lewis of South Carolina and a sister, Deborah L. (Lewis) Netzel of Colorado. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Edgar Lewis and her former husband, William H. Thayer, who died in 2012.
