An avid reader, Sandy enjoyed, traveling and daytrips to Maine. In her retirement, she travelled extensively with her longtime companion throughout the United States, visiting forty-eight of the fifty United States, mostly by recreational vehicle, including a thrilling ride in a hot-air balloon and trips to China and Ireland.
