Seminole, Florida: Salvatore A. "Sammy" DeNaro, 88, of Seminole, died May 16, 2013 at Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, son of the late Gaetano and Concettina (Margherita) DeNaro, he attended Lawrence Public Schools and served in the U.S.Army during W.W.II. Mr. DeNaro was employed for over twenty years first at AVCO which later became Textron Industries, retiring as a production coordinator.
Mr. DeNaro was a member of St. Matthew's Parish of Seminole and a former member of Holy Rosary Parish in Lawrence. A loyal Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, he also enjoyed bowling, as a member of several leagues. An avid reader, and devotee of the History Channel, he also enjoyed Bingo and playing cards, especially his weekly Poker game in Seminole.
The husband of the late Dorothy (May) DeNaro, who died in 2003, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Constance and Peter Bonin of Hampstead, NH, two sons, Thomas J. DeNaro of Haverhill and David R. DeNaro of Lawrence, five grandchildren, Julie Mulone of Manchester, NH, Peter Bonin, Jr. of Derry, NH, Salvatore J. DeNaro of Methuen, Jillian Marques of Methuen, and Rocco DeNaro of Manchester, NH, also twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a grandson Thomas J. DeNaro, Jr., a sister Joan Ventura, and a brother Joseph DeNaro and a daughter-in-law, Diane DeNaro.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main ST., Plaistow, NH.
