PLAISTOW, NH - Ruth Mildred (McComiskey) Ingham, 89, a resident of Plaistow for over sixty-to  years, passed away on November 3, 2017 after residing at Poplin Nursing Home since August 14, 2014 where she was a favorite resident to the staff, enjoyed getting her hair and nails done every week and attended activities regularly.

She was born on March 5, 1928 in Chelsea, Suffolk, MA to the late Windsor Arthur McComiskey and Mary (Hanf) McComiskey.  Mrs. Ingham had six elder sisters and two elder brothers, all who have also predeceased her.  The family moved to Georgetown, MA where she was raised and educated attending Perley School until 8th grade.  She became employed at Western Electric in North Andover, MA where she met her husband the late Thomas E. Ingham who passed away on October 3, 2013.  After a two year courtship and many Sunday drives together, they were married at the original Holy Angels Church on Rt 125, honeymooned in Niagara Falls, Canada and moved into their first and only home at 15 Danville Road in Plaistow, NH.  They had been married for 60 years at the time of Mr. Ingham's passing.

Mrs. Ingham was a loving wife and devoted mother to her husband and two sons.  The family enjoyed traveling and camping throughout New England and beyond, a cross country trip to California and many high school band trips as both sons played instruments.  Mrs. Ingham enjoyed gardening and kept a beautiful yard.  Some of the activities she enjoyed were croquet, golfing, crocheting, painting ceramics and playing skip-bo.  She was a no-nonsense woman who was very practical yet also had a sense of humor.

A longtime member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish and the former Holy Angels Parish of Plaistow, where Mrs. Ingham was a founder and supporter of the Holy Angels Food Pantry.  She was one of the original members of the Plaistow Lioness Club where she was honored with the Appreciation Award in 1984-85, the Award for Outstanding Service in 1985-86 and Award for Outstanding Dedicated Service Given to Humanity in 1988-1989.  She was also and a former member of the Timberlane Regional High School Band Parents Association.

Mrs. Ingham worked at the former King's Department store in Plaistow and then at Western Electric until she retired after 20 years.  She then worked part-time at Osco Drug in Plaistow for a few more years until her final retirement.

During their retreat time together when not sitting together on the porch, Mr. and Mrs. Ingham enjoyed a cruise to the islands, a road trip to Florida, and many month long 'July Trips' to places undecided until the car took them.  She was always affectionately his 'Kiddo'.

Repeated occurrences by Mrs. Ingham that will be remembered, missed and not soon forgotten by family include: her loud bird-like call from the porch to anyone she wanted in the yard, her sometimes colorful language and the first question she would ask if you were not feeling well.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas A. and Janet (Connell) Ingham of Newton, NH; Gary and Suzanne (Paulhus) Ingham of Plaistow, NH; and also a step-daughter and son-in-law, Thalia (Ingham) and Ronald Marino of Atkinson, NH; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, one great, great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Rte. 121A Plaistow.  Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 9 am from the funeral with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow.  Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Plaistow Lions Club, P.O.
