IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald C.
Tuck
February 8, 1935 – January 25, 2022
Newton, NH: Ronald C. "Ronnie" Tuck, 86, of Newton, NH, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
He was born February 8, 1935 in Rocks Village in East Haverhill MA, son of the late Clarron Tuck and Mary Louise (Colby) Tuck. He grew up in the Ward Hill section in Bradford. Ronald was a hard worker all his life. His first job was delivering for Atherton's furniture. For a short time, he owned and ran a store called Ron's Spa in Haverhill. After his brother was drafted into the army, he enlisted right alongside him. He graduated from the Medical Corps at Camp Atterbury, IN and was stationed in Germany from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. Before and during his time in the army, he was a Golden Gloves boxer. After completing his military service, he worked as a union carpenter for nearly forty years and presently he was the bar manager and Past Commander at American Legion Post #34 in Plaistow. A founding member of the Haverhill Ridge Runners, Ronnie was a well-known and perennial participant in the Haverhill Santa Claus parade.
He enjoyed hosting parties by his pool, playing cards with his buddies, getting lunch at Skip's, or just going for a ride by the beach. He loved yard sales and flea markets, and he always stopped to check out any good stuff he saw on the side of the road. An avid fisherman, Ron liked to spend his days fishing more than anything, and he would go whenever possible.
Large of stature and larger of heart, Ronnie was known for his generosity. His tough exterior intimidated anyone who did not know him for the loving family man that he was. Ronnie was not an outwardly gregarious person, but he was fair, loyal, and genuine and because of that he had so many friends. They just do not make them like him anymore, and he will be missed tremendously by all who were lucky enough to know him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend, Janice M. (Ceder) Tuck with whom he shared sixty-three years of marriage; his children, Sherry Harriman and her husband Shawn "Mickey", of Kingston, Bette-Lou Sawyer and her fiance James Wentworth of Plaistow, and Amy Alexopoulos and her husband Christopher of Plaistow; six grandchildren, Colby-Jan Wolff and her husband William, Lacee Dube and her fiance Adam Goodwin, Ronny Dube, Cassidy Wentworth, Ava Alexopoulos, and Charles Alexopoulos; a great grandchild, Thea Wolff; his brother Robert Tuck and his wife Linda as well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends. Ronald was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Gary Tuck, Mary Lou Selvaggio, and Clarron Tuck Jr., and his grandson, Ryan Sawyer, whom he loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ronnie's Life Celebration to be held Monday, January 31, 2022, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home at 116 Main Street in Plaistow, NH.
