Hampstead, NH: Ronald J. Bernaby, 69, a resident of Hampstead for over forty years, died on February 9, 2014 at his home.
Born in Medford, MA and raised and educated in Atkinson, NH, son of the late John and Mary Elizabeth Therese (Cruciani) Bernaby, he attended the Rockwell School, Atkinson Academy, and graduated from Haverhill Trade School with the Class of 1963.
Mr. Bernaby served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Bernaby was a self-employed carpenter and also worked for local contractors.
A member of the American Legion Carl Davis Post in Plaistow, Mr. Bernaby enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Bernaby assisted his family in the care and showing of dogs. He also enjoyed attending flea markets and bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Noel) (Evans) Bernaby, a son, Vernon Evans of New Jersey, three daughters, Linda Ard of Kingston, NH, Tina DeVit of New Ipswich, NH, and Debbi Ladd of Barrington, NH, a brother, Kenneth Bernaby of Sandown, NH, a sister, Nancy Gordon of Newton, NH, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John L. "Jack" Bernaby.
