Osborne
September 26, 1946 – March 23, 2025
Plaistow, NH: Roger V. Osborne, 78, a resident of Plaistow since 1971, died peacefully in his home on March 23, 2025, surrounded by the love and support of his family.
Born in West Newbury, he was the son of the late Roland V. and Minerva (Taylor) Osborne, and was raised and educated in Newton Junction, NH. A member of the Class of 1964 at Sanborn Seminary in Kingston, he went on to receive his degree from University of New Hampshire.
Roger was an Eagle Scout and member of the Newton Troop of the Boy Scouts of America and a former Assistant Scout Master of Troop 18 of Plaistow. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service. A longtime member of the Kingston VFW, he served for several years as the Quartermaster of the post.
During his work life, Roger was employed as a salesman at the former Newton Junction Hardware, National Building Supply, Line Lumber and Verizon, and happily retired to spend time with his wife, Evelyn, especially at their camp on Conner Pond hunting, fishing and kayaking.
Predeceased in 2024 by his loving wife Evelyn I. (Cronin) Osborne, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott V. and Pamela Stauffer Osborne of Verona, NJ, a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda K. and Jamie Sullivan of Alexandria, NH; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Richard Hale of Arizona; three grandchildren, Emily F. Osborne of Verona, NJ and Conner J Sullivan and Brian R. Sullivan, both of Alexandria, and his late brother's partner Judy Hikel, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Darlene Osborne, and his brother-in-law Dennis Cronin.
Relatives and friends are invited to Roger's Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10 am in Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street., Plaistow, NH. A private family committal service with Military Honors in Plaistow Cemetery will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The National Organization for Rare Disorders, rarediseases.org, 55 Kenosia Avenue, Danbury CT.
