Plaistow, NH: Roberta L. (Beaudoin) Blomquist, 64, a resident of Plaistow since 1986, died January 31, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Robert and Joan (Stoessel) Beaudoin, she was raised and educated in North Andover, MA. She was a member of the North Andover High School Class of 1972 and Saint Michael's Parish. As a young woman she was a member of the Mary Richards Irish Step Dancing Troup.
Mrs. Blomquist was employed first at New England Telephone and their successor companies, as a service representative and clerical worker, finally retiring in 1996 from Verizon with twenty-four years of service.
Mrs. Blomquist enjoyed knitting with her many close friends at Yarn Song as well as shopping, traveling to anyplace warm, Caribbean cruises, and the yearly two week vacations in Aruba with their friends, the Doherty and Mahoney families. Devoted to her family and her friends, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren perform in theatrical productions and there was no limit to what she would do for her friends. She also was an avid fan of all Boston and New England sports teams.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of forty-years, Eric C. Blomquist, a daughter and son-in-law, Kerri M. and William Sheffield of Plaistow, grandchildren, Frankie, Kaylie, Erica, Mya, and Julie, a brother and sister-in-law John and Tracy Beaudoin of North Andover, sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Diaz of Plaistow, and Elizabeth and Joseph Remmes of Bradford, an aunt and an uncle, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and Maureen Doherty, "the best friend that anybody could ask for". She was predeceased by a brother Richard Beaudoin.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours and Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral home, 116 Main ST., Plaistow. Her funeral will begin on Wednesday at 8:45 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, North Andover. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to The American Lung Association.
