Obituary


Lawrence: Robert F. West, 70, of Lawrence, died January 17, 2014 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Born, raised and educated in Lawrence, son of the late Lyman and Dorothy (Kimball) West, he graduated from Lawrence High School. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam) and the Expert Rifle Marksmanship Badge.

Robert worked for many years as a self employed painting and decorating contractor, working in Greater Lawrence and Andover.
A member of Saint Mary's Parish and Saint Patrick Parish, he enjoyed horseracing.

Predeceased by his longtime partner Mimi Salter in 2003, he is survived by two brothers, Kenneth West of Merrimack, NH and John Lees of Fremont, also extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday morning, January 22, 2014 from 9 to 11:45 am at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow.
